Last Sunday was another fun Dr. Sketchy's Anti-Art School session in Anaheim. Not sure if I'll be able to make it to the next one,I'll be in Vegas for a few days. But here's what sketchies I came up with from last Sundays. Enjoy!

Recent sketchies from last Sunday's Fourth of July Themed Dr.Sketchy's held in Anaheim,CA. Not alot here,didn't much like most of the sketches from the night, but that's o.k. I can turn those bad sketches into something else. I usually try not to make a major piece of art when drawing at Dr. Sketchy's. I like to use the time to practice my life drawing skills, hang with other artists and get some cool poses in to use for future works. So here we go!









And, like I mentioned, here's an example of taking a bad drawing from a night at Dr.Sketchies and turning it into something else(which is why I prefer to do my sketchies in black or blue pencil). A few nights ago I was thumbing thru a book on Men's Adventure Magazines and drew some inspiration onto a bad sketch,tweeking things further until I turned the model into The Black Widow and one of the guys from the book into Nick Fury,and ya get this-

Also I turned one of the models from a few weeks ago into a nurse. Well, tried to. She ended up looking more like a stewardess. Oh well!

I FEEL CREAMY!

I've been busy working on designs,plots, and comic pages for THE CRITTERWITCH,a new character I came up with a few months ago, so there hasn't been much work on anything else. I'm saving all of the sketchies and such for it til' I have some things finished before posting them. I want to have them all in one post.

FLASHING BACK INTO MY PAN!

Last Sunday I got a blast from my past when I walked into The Rothick Art Haus in Anaheim,CA for the bi-weekly Dr. Sketchy's Anti-Art School session and saw this hanging on the model's backdrop-


It may be hard to tell from my crappy cellphone pic(and the weird dis-colorization at the bottom of it),but it's a sheet with Felix The Cat comics printed all over it. I used to have this sheet and it felt like I was walking into a time warp into my old bedroom back in Michigan. Brought back alot of memories. Heck, for all I know I may still have this sheet boxed up somewhere. Pretty cool.
